Extending her wings Anna looked to where Araceli stood between her and the apparent location of the dragon. The beast had yet to react. She was starting to wonder if it had decided they were of no consequence or perhaps it was intelligent enough that it decided it was hearing things. Either way, she hoped it continued whatever it was doing.
Once Anna was on the same level as the hanging bowl, she was able to see the heavy silver chains that were attached to the stone sides. Above her was an anchor that had been pounded into the impossibly smooth ceiling. Nothing short of a giant was going to rip that free and as far as she was aware, giants were extinct.
This is too easy, Anna thought with a sinking feeling in her stomach. Reaching the bowl, she discovered one reason why. The heat was a near inferno the closer she got to the platform.
